TUMBLING/ACRO

Designed to stimulate and develop large motor skills and coordination.

This class is specially designed to stimulate and develop large motor skills, strength, rhythm, balance, coordination and awareness through movement. Students will be begin working towards mastery on somersaults, handstands, cartwheels, backbends, headstands, and more.

DANCE/MOVEMENT

The perfect outlet for positive emotional expression, movement and creativity.

Perfect for girls and boys alike, dance provides an outlet for positive emotional expression, as well as instills a love for movement through improvisation, props and stories. This class develops beginning skills in several styles of dance while building coordination, rhythm, musicality, memory, creativity, posture, self-esteem, emotional, and social skills.

DISCOVERY CENTERS

Discover a world of exploration and interaction through hands-on activities.

Our centers feature opportunities for exploration and interaction through fine-motor-skill activities, block play, dramatic play, sensory, math and art. Teachers work with students in small groups, as well as one-on-one, to help them learn while simultaneously building important foundational social skills, such as taking turns, sharing, expressing feelings and following instructions.

Tackle problem solving while developing a greater sense for numbers, patterns and more.

Math concepts help teach children excellent problem-solving skills. Through the use of various techniques, including manipulative objects, students will begin to develop number sense. Children will also classify, group and regroup objects; recognize patterns and begin to understand addition and subtraction through hands-on identification and practice.

READING/WRITING

Begin developing strong reading and writing skills through exciting, phonics-based lessons.

Fun, musical, phonics-based methods are used to teach and establish strong reading and writing skills, as well as build confidence in students’ ability to recognize letters. When confronted with a new word, they use our phonics concepts to help them sound the word out without guessing. Students also receive daily practice forming and writing letters while holding pencils correctly.

art

Enter a world of creativity, personal expression and imaginative exploration through all types of mediums.

Art refines fine motor skills and stimulates creativity in each student. Projects are often themed around the literature of the day or seasonal themes and holidays. Children increase inventiveness, imagination and appreciation for their surrounding as they explore and create their own designs with various mediums.

STORY TIME

Develop a greater love for reading with the benefit of increased comprehension, vocabulary and listening skills.

Reading from well-written literature helps expand children’s comprehension, increases vocabulary and improves listening and speaking skills. They develop an understanding for characters and events that relate to life, as well as travel to new places through imaginative stimulation. Regular story time also assists to develop a greater love for reading as they relate to characters or situations and predict outcomes and values.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Explore, understand and appreciate the world around us through weekly thematic topic studies.

Weekly circle time and social studies topics provide a chance for children to explore, understand and appreciate the world around them. Our letter-of-the-week based thematic units give practical and often tangible meaning to the topics and ideas being taught and discussed. Classes also gather for calendar, weather, patriotic and positive character-connection songs.

MUSIC

Strengthen memory and recall while building listening skills, patterning, rhyming, rhythm and concentration.

Music has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to learn, as well as assist in memory and recall. Music also builds listening skills, patterning, rhyming, rhythm and concentration. We use music to teach and reinforce concepts taught in the classroom. As a result, you may hear your child humming or singing about numbers, days of the week, or the weather as they go about their day.

CHARACTER building

Learn important values intended to positively impact personal growth and community interaction.

Character development reinforces values such as honesty, compassion, responsibility and respect. It also helps children internalize the concept that every action has a reaction, and that our actions can affect others. We focus on a new value each week, which is incorporated into our letter-based themes.

SCIENCE

Foster an inquisitive mind through hands-on experiments designed to understand the world around us.

Science helps children understand the world around them, as well as teaches deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. We use weekly hands-on experiments to make science exciting. A variety of topics are studied, including animals and their habitats, characteristics of human needs and the life cycle. Scientific exploration fosters inquisitive minds and encourages children to discover the whys and hows of the world around us.

social skills

The most important skills for lifelong success include: communication, self-control, empathy, manners, and more.

Displaying good manners, communicating effectively with others, cooperation, self-control, confidence, independence, being considerate of the feelings of others, curiosity, empathy, and expressing emotion and personal needs are all important components of solid social skills. Our classrooms are structured to help children develop these important skills with age-appropriate expectations for each stage of development.
